  1. Actors, SAG or not, beginners or mature need to keep up with whats current in the profession. Similar to other creative or craft pursuits you can pursue it as a full fledged professional career requiring your entire focus, or fit into other professional pursuits. In some cases, other pursuits, such as writing, may actually serve your career.(Such as writing one person shows). It is not an accident that many actors have other creative talents. But it goes beyond just creativity. Successful acting demands discipline, literacy, and ideally a liberal arts education combined with diverse experience. (Traveling is good). You need the curiosity to go deeper into the human condition. It is no accident that Shakespeare still resonates with us today. As an actor you are conveying a story (other words, or your own). The sag part of sagactor denotes a level of interest and intention
